Ever since ICONE was founded, we've been asking ourselves questions about the fashion industry and its environmental and human impact. How can we produce pieces while minimizing our impact on the environment? How can we offer interesting pieces that meet the new needs and desires of our customers? It is with conviction that, over the seasons, we have proposed new eco-responsible alternatives for each range and line of our collections.

The importance of sourcing

As part of this responsible approach to quality control, the purchasing team operates in-house. It is entirely dedicated to sustainable sourcing, the search for new, ever more responsible materials, and to maintaining good relations with our employees across Europe.

Carefully selected, each material is sourced for durability, creativity and quality. Testimony to the savoir-faire inherited from French couture, ICONE creations are made from exceptional fabrics. Calais-Caudry lace, French embroidery, Italian tulle, Turkish microfiber.

Since 2019, we have been working closely with production workshops specializing in corsetry and swimwear. These workshops are all OEKOTEX-labeled and audited every year to ensure the well-being of our garment makers. To limit our carbon footprint, all our lingerie is now made in Tunisian workshops, experts in the manufacture of these models. Always on the lookout for new, reliable partners, we have turned to Portugal for the manufacture of our homewear and accessories.

Offering new eco-friendly alternatives

Recycled bath products

Our bath line contained 50% recycled fabrics by 2020, rising to over 80% by 2021. Today, the entire bath line contains recycled materials. In addition to this commitment, the majority of materials are now sourced in France. GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified, we guarantee recycled textiles that respect environmental and social criteria.

These pieces are made from SEAQUAL, a polyester fiber created from plastic waste collected from the oceans. It's one of the world's most certified ecofriendly fibers.

And the others ?

Because we are committed to developing the sustainability of our other lines, we use recycled materials in certain models from our homewear and ready-to-wear lines. This work on each new collection tends to become a permanent feature. Every season, we go one step further with a single objective: to become as responsible as possible.

Our GOTS-certified cottons

GOTS is the international reference label for organic textiles, especially organic cotton. It is a standard committed to an environmentally and socially responsible textile processing chain.

The label not only focuses on sustainable development, but also imposes strict rules and guidelines for all companies involved in the value chain. The label guarantees the customer that the product is manufactured in a socially responsible and environmentally friendly manner. Only textile products containing a minimum of 70% organic fibers can be GOTS-certified. The chemical inputs used, such as dyes and additives, must comply with a number of environmental and toxicological criteria. Production and processing systems must also comply with environmental regulations. A functional wastewater treatment plant is mandatory.

The label brings together the International Association Natural Textile Industry, the Soil Association, the Organic Cotton Association and Ecocert.
As part of our responsible approach, we have chosen to use GOTS cotton for all our homewear collections and for all our panty bottoms.
